01Who is responsible
The controller for personal data processed in operating Lanovky and handling enquiries is Jan Maňas, Czech Republic. For privacy requests, contact gondolaguide@gmail.com. This notice describes the iPhone and iPad app. Apple and the other services listed below also have their own policies for processing they carry out independently.
02What stays on your device
Favourite lifts, your saved Home address and coordinates, appearance and language preferences, and quiz progress are stored on your device. Your profile may contain a nickname, a selected icon or processed photo, and chosen activities. Visit entries contain a lift identifier and name, date, visit type, note and, where applicable, a location-verification timestamp. You can use your profile and visit journal without sync. Favourites, Home and quiz progress are not currently included in profile and visit sync. Local data may also be included in system backups depending on your Apple settings.
03Optional iCloud sync
If you enable sync, your profile and visits are transferred using Apple CloudKit to your private iCloud database and between devices using the same Apple Account. Sync also uses technical account and record identifiers, versions, modification times and device identifiers to resolve concurrent edits. These are not advertising identifiers. Sync does not require a separate Sign in with Apple login. The author does not ordinarily have access to the contents of your private database; you may disclose content by sending it in an enquiry. Turning sync off does not delete previously stored data.
04Location, compass and routes
With system permission, the app uses location for features you start: nearby lifts, the compass, directions, journey tracking or visit verification. While journey tracking is active, location may be used in the background and while the phone is locked. End tracking in the route overview; permissions can be changed in iOS Settings. The app does not create a persistent recording of your entire GPS trail. A verified visit stores the lift and verification time, rather than the phone’s GPS coordinates. The entry still reveals a place you visited. You can browse the catalogue without location; location-dependent features will be limited.
05Maps, weather and external links
Apple services provide maps, address search and directions. A Home search sends the search query to Apple; directions use an origin and destination. Station weather uses Apple WeatherKit with catalogue station coordinates, rather than the phone’s current location. Network providers also process data needed to deliver requests, such as IP addresses. When you start external navigation, the destination is passed to your selected service: Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze or Mapy.com; Mapy.com also receives a one-time location as the origin. External websites and apps apply their own policies. A Google Maps link does not itself send your profile or visit journal.
06Photos and Live Activities
You choose a specific image through the system photo picker. The camera is used only when you request it and grant permission. A processed copy is stored for your profile and, if sync is enabled, in private iCloud. A Live Activity may show the destination, distance, time, journey phase and update status on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. People who can see your screen may see this information. The app does not use its own remote-update server for this feature.
07Premium and purchases
The App Store handles payments, subscriptions and restoration. Using StoreKit, Lanovky processes signed product and transaction information, validity, environment, expiry and revocation information to verify Premium access. The app does not receive your payment-card number or Apple password. Entitlement is not stored in your profile or synced as an iCloud user preference. You initiate purchase restoration; App Store authentication may be required. Apple retains payment and statutory records under its own rules. Deleting the app or profile does not itself cancel a subscription.
08Support and catalogue suggestions
The suggestion form prepares an email or system share. You confirm sending; the app does not send it in the background. The author receives what you send, such as a place name, description, source link or lift identifier, and your sender address for email. Home, phone location, photos and journal are not attached automatically. Support is handled in a Gmail mailbox. We use messages to reply, verify and correct the catalogue and, where necessary, protect legal rights. Your contact details are not published in the catalogue as part of a suggestion. Avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.
09Purposes and legal bases
Data necessary to provide features you request, sync and Premium verification is processed to perform our contract with you (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). The system manages location, photo and camera permissions; you can revoke them in settings. Where consent is legally required for particular processing, we rely on it (point (a)); withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing. Handling general enquiries, correcting errors and protecting rights may rely on our legitimate interests (point (f)); contractual enquiries on contract performance. Mandatory records are processed to meet legal obligations (point (c)). We do not use personal data for targeted advertising or solely automated decisions producing legal effects.
10Retention and deletion
Local content remains until you edit or delete it in the app or remove app data. Uninstalling may not remove copies in iCloud or system backups. With sync enabled and a successful connection, deleting a visit or clearing your profile propagates to other devices. Technical deletion records, identifiers and modification versions may remain in the sync journal to prevent deleted content from returning from another device. Deletion therefore does not immediately erase all technical metadata. You can also manage iCloud data and backups using Apple’s tools. Contact us for help with complete removal; never send your Apple password. Support correspondence is kept as needed to resolve the enquiry and related claims; necessary records are retained for legally required periods. Operational caches are temporary. External providers apply their own retention rules.
11Recipients and international transfers
Depending on the feature, recipients include Apple (iCloud, maps, weather and the App Store), Google as our email provider and the map or web services you open. This page’s hosting provider may process technical requests and security logs. These services may process data outside the EEA. Processing scope, location and safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, depend on the service and its terms. This page is hosted by Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc.). When you visit, Cloudflare may process your IP address, requested URL, request time and technical information to deliver the page and secure its network. We do not enable first-party web analytics or marketing tools. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and its Data Processing Addendum. We do not sell personal data.
12Your rights
Where applicable, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability; you may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent. Contact the email above. We normally respond within one month and explain any permitted extension. We may reasonably verify your identity. The author cannot independently retrieve your private iCloud content or on-device data; we can help you use available controls. You may complain to the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection or the competent authority where you live or work. This summary does not limit statutory rights.
13This page and updates
This page has no first-party analytics, advertising scripts, forms or embedded third-party services. Switching language does not store cookies or local data; loading the other language is an ordinary network request. Hosting still processes ordinary network requests. We update this notice when features or processing change; the version date appears above. Planned features, such as friends’ location sharing, are not described as already available. The public build described here does not include the Google Places SDK or food search. Google Maps links remain external links. We will update this notice before adding services such as food search.
